Her voice is called by no less of a talent than flamenco musician Pepe Habichuela as sweet and sharp, however with a bit of bite similar to the old ones. After her 2017 debut album Los Angeles garnered attention from the U.S. public and earned her an Latin Grammy nomination for Best New Artist her 2018 follow-up El Mal Querer was a major critical and commercial breakthrough that topped the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart and finally getting an Grammy. The hit single La Fama featuring the Weeknd was released in 2021. The third album by Motomami featured songwriting collaborations with many artists and producers like Cory Henry and James Blake. In March 2022 the set began to be released in conjunction with Saturday Night Live's show Chicken Teriyaki. Rosalia is the first Spanish artist to perform solo on the show. Motomami was the only woman in the history of music to be a winner of the Latin Album of the Year twice, as well as the three Latin Grammy Awards.
