Angelica Panganiban, a Filipino American model and actress, who also serves as a TV hostess as well as a comedian. She had double pneumonia due to an aggressive strain of strep-pneumococcal. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was able to place her on ECMO care for life-saving treatment. The kidneys of her did not heal after she developed an infection with septicae and eventually had several organ malfunctions. Hemodialysis and later peritoneal dialysis became her new normal. Over the course of the 80 days she was in the hospital, her life was changed for the better. Angelica was being on dialysis for the past year and a half until she finally was able to undergo the most important operation of her life, a kidney transplant. Angelica's mother was the only one with the ability to give the kidney. On September 13 2013 Angelica and her mom underwent an operation to transplant their kidneys at two amazing hospitals located across the street from one another- the University Hospital of Memory and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston. Angelica Hale pursued her dream of becoming a celebrity for years after.
