Her mother taught her how to sing, however she started more intensive vocal training with Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally renowned Mexican opera tenor. Music education was continued by the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and later with the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was an opera singer in numerous groups and chamber choirs. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to the southern part of California. She is a current member of Ensemble XXI of Redlands and often performs as a soloist in classical Latin American music at private occasions. The passion and love she has for music, art, and performing has her participating with a variety of local initiatives as a performer, teacher, and instructor. Ana is also a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands as in addition to an active member of Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana hopes, through her sharing of Latin American traditional songs, that she will instill a passion, particularly among the younger generation in keeping the music in the present.
